She did make mention that she had a picture, and she sent it to me. But somehow this new information has had an impact on me. I wasn’t close to him by any means because of our difference in age. I had watched him and his friends grow from pesky teenagers into young adults.

    Her boyfriend had died just a few days before that logsheet got changed. And I would keep a gum wrapper if I found one of his. And we would drive back and forth, and just look at that wall, he would grab my hand and smile and kiss me as soft as he could. So with a small Sharpie he had on him, I wrote “J ❤s S 1-1-17” across the sheet. And we drove to main Street, he pulled it out the wall and told me to sign it, he said I can write as big as I want.

    We drove around reminiscing about where he grew up, his family, the love of his music, jeep … me. On New Year’s Eve we were each other’s first kiss, our first hug, our first laugh and our first touch. My boyfriend and I had a relationship, it started long before we even knew it.
